At Inspire & Innovate Family Day Care Scheme, keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to celebrate Working with Children Week, running from 23 to 29 June 2025.
This special week recognises the incredible contributions of over 1.9 million people across New South Wales who support children’s wellbeing through education, sport, the arts and community life. It’s also a valuable time to shine a light on the child safety requirements that help create safe, supportive environments for every child.
This year’s theme is “Partners in Keeping Children Safe”
The theme highlights the importance of working together to build strong, child-safe cultures within organisations like ours. When educators, families and organisations are well-informed and equipped with up-to-date training, children are safer, more supported and free to thrive.
As a family day care scheme, we understand that building a child-safe culture takes ongoing effort, reflection and learning. This week is a great opportunity to review our child safety policies and continue strengthening our practices.
How we’re taking part
Here are a few ways Inspire & Innovate is engaging with Working with Children Week 2025:
• Refreshing our knowledge: We’re encouraging educators and staff to explore the free eLearning courses offered by the Office of the Children’s Guardian. These are tailored to different sectors and are a great way to boost confidence and understanding.
• Reviewing our WWCC records: Keeping accurate and up-to-date Working with Children Check records is an important part of compliance, and we’re using this week as a chance to check in.
• Celebrating our educators: We’re sharing examples of safe and supportive learning environments across our scheme using the hashtag #WWCW2025. Our educators are deeply committed to safety and wellbeing, and this is a wonderful moment to celebrate that.
A shared responsibility
Child safety isn’t a one-time task. It’s an ongoing partnership built on awareness, training and trust. Working with Children Week reminds us that together, we can create a world where every child feels safe, seen and supported.
