Toddlers (2-3 years)

In our Toddler Space, we have carefully designed the learning space to spark the curiosity and imagination of young children. With the support and guidance of our dedicated educators, children can achieve their learning goals and build confidence through engaging in active, hands-on experiences that encourage independent exploration and discovery.

We provide an environment that nurtures the development of essential skills such as communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and toilet training.

Our educators support children as they develop a sense of identity, build confidence, and explore their surroundings. Like all our learning spaces, we aim to create inspiring environments where children can freely express themselves and dream aloud.

In our Toddler Room, children enjoy a variety of extra-curricular activities such as soccer, drama, music, art, and dance that enhance creativity, movement, and confidence. Storytime is shared 2–3 times daily, supporting language, literacy, numeracy, and cognitive development well into their schooling years.

A consistent daily routine helps develop important self-help skills like toilet training, handwashing, and independent feeding, while creative freedom and roleplay give children the chance to use their imagination and express themselves through dramatic play and the arts.

Our Learning Modules

Our toddler program is enriched with engaging modules that nurture curiosity, creativity, and confidence while supporting early development.
Toddlers are introduced to simple STEM concepts through hands-on play, problem-solving, and discovery activities that spark curiosity and build early thinking skills.
Singing, rhymes, rhythm, and dance enhance language, memory, coordination, and self-expression, while creating joyful shared experiences.
Incursions bring the community into our centre, with local community members and families sharing their cultures, knowledge, and experiences to broaden children’s understanding of the world. These in-centre opportunities expose toddlers to exciting new ideas and experiences in a safe and familiar environment.
Excursions provide safe opportunities for toddlers to explore beyond the centre, helping them connect with the world around them and build real-life connections through hands-on experiences. To ensure safety, a comprehensive risk management plan is always in place, and parents are notified in advance and required to provide consent before each excursion
Painting, drawing, and craft give children the chance to explore creativity and imagination, develop fine motor skills, and communicate their ideas visually.
For toddlers, physical play is an essential part of learning and growth. Our playground is thoughtfully designed with age-appropriate equipment and activities that support children of all abilities. With guidance from our educators, toddlers are encouraged to climb, run, balance, and explore in ways that strengthen their gross motor skills and coordination. Outdoor play helps them build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self, while also learning how to manage risks safely. These shared experiences promote teamwork, social interaction, and healthy brain development—laying the foundation for an active and confident future.
Together, these modules create a dynamic and well-rounded program that inspires toddlers to explore, imagine, and learn in meaningful ways.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you support toilet training?
Our educators work closely with families to follow each child’s readiness and routine. We encourage toilet training through positive reinforcement, gentle guidance, and consistency between home and centre.
What does a typical day look like for toddlers?
Toddlers follow a balanced daily routine that includes play-based learning, storytime, outdoor exploration, group activities, rest time, and opportunities for self-help skills like feeding and toileting. This structure helps them feel secure while encouraging independence.
How do you support social and emotional development?
Our educators create a nurturing environment where toddlers learn to share, take turns, and express emotions. Through group play, roleplay, and guided interactions, children build confidence, empathy, and friendships.
How do you manage meals and nutrition?
All meals and snacks are freshly prepared and supplied by the centre. Our menus are healthy, balanced, and cater to dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences. Mealtimes also encourage independence as children practice self-feeding and social interaction.
How do you encourage learning at this age?
Learning is play-based and hands-on. We provide sensory play, art, music, storytelling, outdoor exploration, and early literacy, numeracy, and STEM experiences. These activities nurture curiosity, problem-solving, and a love of learning.
What safety measures are in place during play and excursions?
Safety is our top priority. Educators always supervise, equipment and spaces are regularly checked, and a comprehensive risk management plan is in place for every excursion. Parents are notified and required to provide consent before outings.
How do you communicate with families about their child’s progress?
We use Owna, a secure childcare app, to share daily updates, photos, and learning stories. Educators also provide feedback at drop-off and pick-up, and we welcome ongoing conversations with families.
How do you support toddlers with developing independence?
We encourage self-help skills such as feeding themselves, washing hands, packing away toys, and toilet training. These small steps build confidence, responsibility, and a growing sense of independence.
What role do extra-curricular activities play?
Toddlers enjoy activities such as soccer, drama, music, art, and dance, which enhance creativity, movement, and confidence. These experiences broaden their learning and provide fun, structured opportunities to try new things.
How do you celebrate milestones and achievements?
We celebrate every achievement, big or small—whether it’s a first toilet success, a new word, or climbing the playground for the first time. Families are kept updated through Owna and personal communication so they can share in these special moments.
