What age group do you cater for in Vacation Care?
Our program is designed for school-aged children between 5–12 years, providing a safe, fun, and enriching environment during school holidays.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day includes a balance of structured activities, free play, and relaxation time. Children enjoy a variety of experiences such as sports, art and craft, STEM challenges, music, drama, and group games.
Are excursions included?
Yes! We plan exciting excursions to local parks, libraries, museums, and entertainment venues, as well as incursions where special guests bring unique learning opportunities into the centre. Families are always notified in advance and asked to provide consent before any excursion.
What kind of food is provided?
We supply nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day to keep children fuelled and energised. All dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences are catered for.
How do you keep children safe during excursions?
A comprehensive risk management plan is in place for every outing. Educators maintain strict supervision ratios, and all transport and venues are assessed for safety before the excursion.
Do children have learning opportunities, or is it just play?
Our program balances learning with fun. Activities are designed to encourage problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and independence, while still giving children the freedom to enjoy their holidays.
What should my child bring each day?
We recommend bringing a labelled water bottle, hat, sunscreen, spare clothes, and any comfort items your child may need. For excursion days, families will receive a reminder of any additional items required.
How do you support children of different ages?
Activities are tailored to suit a range of abilities and interests. Older children are encouraged to take on leadership roles, while younger ones are supported with age-appropriate activities and guidance.
Can I book for single days, or do I need to commit to the whole holiday program?
Families have the flexibility to book for single days, multiple days, or the entire holiday program, depending on their needs.
How do you communicate with families?
We keep families informed with daily updates through the OWNA childcare app, as well as face-to-face communication at drop-off and pick-up. Excursion reminders and activity highlights are also shared regularly.
