Language and Literacy
Language and literacy are essential for communicating, expressing, and understanding emotions and motivations. We view them as fundamental for developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. In our service, we recognise the importance of play as a key tool in supporting children's language development. Through social interactions, children engage in activities such as musical songs, role play, games, storytelling, art, science, and math. These activities not only make learning enjoyable but also foster the growth of language skills in a natural and engaging way.
STEM
Children are introduced to the early STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Program through inquiry-based approach. This method encourages them to explore and learn by:
- Asking questions to satisfy their curiosity
- Working together to promote teamwork
- Thinking creatively to come up with new ideas
- Testing different solutions to find what works best
- Discovering innovative ways to approach tasks
- Solving problems
- Assessing risks by understanding cause and effect.
Incursions/Excursions
Our extended curriculum involves incursions where local community members and families visit the centre to share their cultures and experiences. Excursions enable children to explore the world around them and understand real-life connections. A comprehensive risk management plan will be in place. Parents will be notified and required to provide consent for their children before each excursion.
Creative Art
Our creative art curriculum empowers children to express their thoughts and ideas through art and craft.
Our educators plan age-appropriate art programs that encourage creativity and adaptability with resources that are available to us. This helps children develop their creative thinking skills with no limitations on their imagination.
Sustainability
Our program incorporates the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle through engaging activities such as gardening and the creative use of recycled materials.
We also emphasize mindful consumption, teaching children to use only what they need. Through these hands-on experiences, we aim to foster a lifelong commitment to caring for our planet.
Nutrition and Physical Activity
We believe that a healthy and balanced diet is essential for promoting a strong foundation for children's growth and development. Our on-site chef prepares morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea daily. Additionally, Mealtime offers an excellent opportunity for children to socialise and build positive relationships through interactive dining experiences.
Our playground is thoughtfully designed to accommodate children of all abilities, featuring age-appropriate activities planned by our educators. Physical play is a crucial part of our program, helping children develop a strong sense of self, learn to manage risks, and promote brain development.
